Diving buoys

I'm planning on doing a little snorkelling and was wondering if it is necessary/worthwhile/legal requirement etc. to display a marker buoy.

its a fairly quiet spot I want to dive but there a few kids in speedboats and jetskis around who are a bit reckless and probably wouldn't know what the marker was for until they run me through with a propellor.

also... is there any other gear worth taking?

I don't know the name, but on Risøy, there's a shop that sels diving equitment, try there..

I found a use for My Lidl pod... I made a telescopic spear from one of the legs. now I just need some sling elastic.
