  1. Interesting setup, but I think any shiny metal is gonna distract fish. When I spearfished, fish were always attacking the spear's movable barb while the gun was still in my hand :D

Hard to see from the film... is it about 2m between camera and jig?

  2. The most important season of all is almost upon us... Gummibåt season!

Finally got my transducer situation under control with a kinetic waterspeed transducer pole and a bit of McGyvering...

All that remains is to make a handy portable setup for the HDS5 and battery on that front.

Hopefully sorted out some performance issues too by raising the motor about 5cm by adding some aluminium plates.

Now the antiventilation plate is just below the bottom of the boat instead of running too deep and dragging. Hoping to see an increase in overall knots and quicker planing :)

  3. I'm just too lazy to write in Norwegian :)

WD40 has been used as an attractant for fishing before ( some old threads on this forum about it), it's no problem to use it on hooks.

Not entirely necessary to use it on hooks either if they are used often. It is more useful to wipe over rod guides and reels, but just a wipe with a lint free cloth, not so good to spray it over everything.

  4. Bit of wd40/würth helps on hooks and stuff, but often I just wait til it all rusts then replace them :D

Most reel manufaturers reccommend a light rinse in freshwater and just wipe off any excess salt...Don't drown them. Same for rings on the rod... even quality guides start to rot eventually.

If I could be bothered, I would give all my gear a quick shower, dry them and a wipe with a lint free cloth with some wd40 on it

  5. Skrubbe has knuckles on its head and little jagged notches either side of the lateral line and a few rough scales when you draw your hand over it.

Rødspette looks very much like Skrubbe sometimes but ls smoother than a baby's bum when you run your hand over it.

Kveite doesn't have the bumps on it's head

This picture from an old thread entitled 'for the education of Asmund' shows the rough bits either side of the lateral line on a skrubbe :D
