atomichaggis Skrevet January 19, 2008 Rapporter Share Skrevet January 19, 2008 Need more pointers... I'm after a 7-9 flyreel that will stand up to saltwater and look cool as f##k... price not as important as performance and sex appeal Svar på innlegget Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider

Espen Ørud Skrevet January 20, 2008 Rapporter Share Skrevet January 20, 2008 No, but I`ve testet it and know somene who does and they`ve used it a lot and we consider it makes good value of money, and I think i does look quite nice... But IF my Backwinder become worn out that one is one that I keep my eyes on...

atomichaggis Skrevet January 21, 2008 Forfatter Rapporter Share Skrevet January 21, 2008 That is a shame, they are stunning looking reels. Maybe they should have moved production somewhere cheaper. Anyone know if there are some left on sale somewhere?

It's very similar in styling to the Streamstix Troutseeker. probably one of the best looks on the market today. I'm not so keen on the look of the opti series tho. Borre Skrevet January 22, 2008 Rapporter Share Skrevet January 22, 2008 Been using the Troutseeker #4-6 for a couple of years now, and I just love it. Works just as fine in saltwater as in freshwater. In addition to a nice finish, it reels really smoothly and fast. And it has a LOT of sex appeal (I have the green one) Svar på innlegget Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider

atomichaggis Skrevet January 22, 2008 Forfatter Rapporter Share Skrevet January 22, 2008 Can buy the trout versions from one site in the UK for around £125-150... they are advertised as Sshoot Backwinder. another UK site sells the Trout series II at £225 and Seatrout series one at £265. All very tempting but I have no idea what the differences are between the series one and two are tho. A Norwegian shop is offering the Salmon version... but I can't find any information on it anywhere.
atomichaggis Skrevet January 22, 2008 Forfatter Rapporter Share Skrevet January 22, 2008 I've seen the backwinder site when they were talking about making a salmon series but I never seen it for sale... not sure I wanna buy a prototype from a company that went bankrupt Svar på innlegget Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider
Wiggy Skrevet January 23, 2008 Rapporter Share Skrevet January 23, 2008 The best reels I've ever seen are these......pure reel porno! http://www.hatchoutdoors.com/reels/3plus.html If I had the money, it'd be going to this company, that's for sure! Otherwise there are so many nice looking reels. Personally I like Lamson Litespeeds, as I've two of them. Wychwood Ionica Partridge S Series But as I said, too much fishing bling and not enough wad! atomichaggis Skrevet January 23, 2008 Forfatter Rapporter Share Skrevet January 23, 2008 Both the Wychwood Ionica and Partridge S series had caught my eye too... Think the Partridge is a favourite there by some distance. I haven't seen it in a norwegian shop yet tho, if I do then it's definately a contender. Not so sure about the Hatch... maybe have to see it in the flesh/metal. Trouble with lamsons and a few other makes is that the ones that caught my eye are like entry level models, the big boys ones are all a bit overstyled and machined like a collander. Wiggy Skrevet January 23, 2008 Rapporter Share Skrevet January 23, 2008 the big boys ones are all a bit overstyled and machined like a collander. Now that made me giggle I've had a Wychwood Ionica, and it was ok, but the build quality could have been better. I've seen most reels, and I'm with you on that the Partridge is a nice reel. Ari T Hart reels are real cool, but unfortunately a bit heavy for my liking. That's why I'm on the litespeed reels, as they weigh next to nothing. Personally I don't think any of the scandinavian reels are 'cool' enough. They've got great drags, build quality, etc, but not the style. atomichaggis Skrevet January 23, 2008 Forfatter Rapporter Share Skrevet January 23, 2008 Here is the Backwinder salmon... bit chunky and different stylings... not yet decided if i like it. I love the Backwinder Seatrout for style... plus I play fish off the line or rim so a fighting drag is just something waiting to go wrong. If only I could get my hands on one!!!! Loop evotec some posts above has the stylings but weighs a bit. The StreamStix Troutseeker is pretty stylish and the biggest only weighs 148 grams!!! looking very likely indeed. Other would be front runner is an Argentinian... Oh how I wish they made the dormisch absi R2 in larger sizes!

Wiggy Skrevet January 25, 2008 Rapporter Share Skrevet January 25, 2008 Not my taste at all, but we all have different tastes. I've just recieved my new belly boat and it has had it's first inflation. Just been sitting in the lounge in it for the last 10 mins.......sad, I know but oh so comfortable. I'll have to make sure I don't fall asleep whilst fishing!

I'll have to make sure I don't fall asleep whilst fishing! I had to order one from the UK in the end... a grey mark one Seatrout. like the one in gismervik's flyfishing photies I believe. If customs don't buy the "gift" tag then I'll have to argue that its Norwegian and should be exempt lol. I just have to have one tho... Can't have a reel that looks like a rolex like all you other folks out there With this weather the lounge is the safest place you can be in yer belly boat! Try it outside and there will be no sleeping lol. There is nothing like being at home and beaming gladness all over new gear. I have a feeling I'll soon be doing the same with a Loomis stick and anything else I pick up whilst the fishing is cancelled due to weather.
