Not certain that the net is illegal, it is legal to fish nets this way from 31/9 to 31/2. And all year if the net has larger masks than 32 mm. 32mm is mackerel/ herringnet.

Fiske etter anadrome laksefisk (laks, sjøørret og sjørøye) i sjøen

I sjøen er fritidsfiske med stang og håndsnøre etter laksefisk tillatt for alle. All fangst av anadrome laksefisk med andre type redskap (garn, ruser, lyster etc) er forbudt.

§ 1. Påbud om nedsenking av garnredskap

Garn med maskevidde større enn 32 millimeter som brukes til fangst av saltvannsfisk, skal i perioden fra og med 1. mars til og med 30. september senkes slik at hele fangstdelen står minst 3 meter under havoverflaten til enhver tid.

Kanskje det at du fiska der gav han inputet til å setta garnet der. Eg ser fram til å få fiska saman med deg seinare i år.

Nah... he knows what he is doing. He is as old as Norway and sets his nets on the right parts of the right tides. Just annoys me when the conditions are good for fishing and he gets there first

Hmm... I can't be sure of the mask width or the dates I've seen it, I'll need to start taking notes. I think there is possibly a sunken net out there at present as there are a couple of buoys bobbing around at the same spot.

These rules are kinda complicated... to find out if a net is legal I'd need to know its maskwidth, depth it's set and what date it is... i'm not einstein you know!

are there any rules about throwing flatties up on land to die a horrible death like baking in the sun or being eaten by cats?
